The Ministry of European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is announcing an award competition for the selection of the best individual student works on European integration and the process of our country’s accession to the European Union.

The aim of this competition is to directly involve young academics in an open, reasoned debate on important aspects of the accession process and membership of the Republic of Serbia in the European Union.

The papers should answer one of five questions:

Achievements of the Conference on the Future of Europe on the expectations of young people;

New challenges of the crucial geopolitical upheavals and the energy crisis for the transformation of the European Union towards climate neutrality;

The importance of raising awareness among Serbian citizens for the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans;

Possible impacts of the ideas of the “European Political Community” and the “European Geopolitical Community” on the European Union’s enlargement policy;

The principle of solidarity of EU law on the test of the crises of the 21st century.

A commission composed of professors from the University of Belgrade will assess the quality of the submitted papers, and the authors of the three best ones will receive honoraria in the amount of 85,000, 55,000 and 35,000 dinars. In addition to the three best ranked ones, the Ministry will also publish other papers that meet the criteria in the electronic collection of student papers.

The competition is open to students of undergraduate and master’s degree programs at all universities in the Republic of Serbia.

The deadline for submitting papers is October 10, 2022.
