The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Plamena Halačeva, was a guest at the Association of Business Women of Serbia, which is implementing the project “Overcoming Gender and Generational Gaps in the Labor Market through Capacity Building and Promotion of New Business Opportunities in the Cross-Border Region – CBC Business, Gender and Age Equalizer.” This project is supported through the cross-border program for Serbia and North Macedonia, enabling greater participation of women, youth, and vulnerable groups of women in the labor market.
As explained by Dragana Panajotović, the manager of this project, what they want to achieve with partner organizations from North Macedonia is to increase visibility and engage women in sectors that are not traditionally considered as potential careers for women. “Our goal is first to encourage and motivate them; in May, training will begin, followed by providing them with the necessary additional support through mentoring.”
“In addition to the project and the work of our associations, continuous support is necessary from the national and local levels, as well as from the economy, from larger and successful companies operating in our communities,” added Tijana Jovanović, president of the partner organization, the Association of Business Women of Vranje.
