Strengthening the capacities of institutions for programming and managing European territorial cooperation programmes
The Ministry for European Integration organized a workshop on 18 May 2026 within the project “EU Support for the Republic of Serbia to Effectively Implement Cohesion Policy (COHPOL2)”, aimed at strengthening capacities for the preparation and management of future INTERREG programmes in the 2028–2034 period.
The workshop was led by Ivan Curzzolo, an expert in European and territorial cooperation within the COHPOL project, through the presentation of the new regulatory framework of the European Commission for INTERREG programmes and the future Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU.
The workshop focused on:
• the new legal and financial framework for INTERREG 2028–2034
• the reform and performance-based approach in the use of EU funds
• the dynamics of the legislative process and preparation of future programmes
• exchange of experiences and shared understanding of the new rules
This event represents an introduction to a cycle of trainings that will be organized during the autumn, aimed at further strengthening the capacities of institutions for programming and managing European territorial cooperation programmes.
