The overall objective of IPA II Cross Border Cooperation Programme Serbia- North Macedonia 2016- 2020 is to strengthen good neighbourly relations, establish partnerships and to contribute to the development of a vibrant programme area by connecting its people and resources in a sustainable way.
One of the partnerships that started in the first call for proposals and continued in the second was between the municipalities of Leskovac in Serbia and Kriva Palanka in North Macedonia. These two municipalities implemented the project “Connecting Pearls” and the implementation of the “Land of Legends” is still ongoing.
However, this cooperation established during the project implementation resulted in other partnerships between the project beneficiaries from both countries from different municipal services.
Our colleague, Ms. Brankica Ilić from the Citizen’s service center in Leskovac was invited by the Museum from Kriva Palanka to take part in the the traditional “Bridal Worship” in Konopnica, together with her mother in law. The municipality of Kriva Palanka, together with cultural institutions, supports the event as guardian of family values with universal messages that preserve Macedonian cultural heritage.
You can have a peek into the warmth of the day when participants exchanged stories, traditions and also the ideas for future cooperation at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/o.krivapalanka/videos/317542311339055/?extid=CL-UNK-UNK-UNK-IOS_GK0T-GK1C&ref=sharing&mibextid=w8EBqM
